CONTINUED FLIGHT BY THE PILOT INTO INSTRUMENT METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (IMC) AND HIS FAILURE TO MAINTAIN AIRCRAFT CONTROL AFTER BECOMING DISORIENTED. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE: DARK NIGHT, LOW CEILINGS, FOG, DRIZZLE, OBSCURATION, AND FAILURE OF THE PILOT TO DIVERT TO AN ALTERNATE DESTINATION.
