THE PILOT'S INADEQUATE FUEL CALCULATION AND FAILURE TO SERVICE THE AIRPLANE'S FUEL TANKS WITH ADEQUATE QUANTITIES OF FUEL TO COMPETE THE FIGHTS. THE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER RESULTING FROM FUEL EXHAUSTION WAS A FACTOR IN THE ACCIDENT.
